I decided to drive to Fowler because I had heard of the Fowler Lanes and Lounge having a fire about a week ago.
I first must explain that Fowler is my heritage, and I spent many a time there with my parents and in my high school years. My family grew up there, and this is where my relatives reside and some are now found at Holy Trinity Cemetery their final resting place.

I arrived at the Lanes and was amazed and happy that I did not see much outside devastation.

The inside of the building was where the fire had destroyed. This is a devastation to Fowler as it only has a population of 1208. However, the biggest devastation is for the new owners that have only owned the Lanes for a year or less.

The Village residents are behind them 100% and hope that they will be able to reopen at some point down the road.
Fowler was founded in 1857 and is and always has been a close knit town as most small towns are. I feel this is the kind of town that all towns should be.
I was told that the fire was started by a lightening strike from a storm that had gone through that night.
I will always have my family memories, and I still keep in touch with the friends I made while in high school.

It was now time for some cookies, so I stopped at Quality Dairy to once again get something for the road . . . cookies!
