Fido, Butterscotch, Fluffy, Spot and Brutus now is your time to shine

image.jpgHave your human bring you to the Pet Parade at the Depot on Friday, August 20, 6:00 – 7:00 PM for this week’s Fun Family Friday activity. It’s your chance to “strut your stuff” across the Depot “stage,” and your human can show or tell just how wonderful you are. Dog, cat, gerbil, llama, hamster, fish – everyone is welcome. If you like to dress up real fancy, that’s great. Perhaps you specialize in just being adorable. That’s great too. Ask your human to be ready to tell all about wonderful you! Can you really do a trick? Come on down and show off a little…or a lot. There will be doggie door prizes and goodies.
To add to the fun, Sharon Shutes will be back offering free face painting – at least to the humans.

Bethany Perkins, the featured singer, who has grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins in St. Johns
Starting at 7:00 PM there will be musical entertainment by the gazebo. The first entertainer is Bethany Perkins, granddaughter of Hugh and Lynn Banninga of St. Johns; and daughter of Gretchen Banninga Perkins and Bruce Perkins of Brighton. Although just 16 years old, Bethany has won many honors with her amazing singing ability; she will be accompanied by Rachel Short, the organist at First Congregational Church who has generously lent her talent at a number of community events. Bethany will be followed at 7:30 by ¡Nacho Bidness! with Alex Bellinson, playing the djembi drums and Pete Rice playing guitar.
There is no charge for these events. Fun Family Fridays are coordinated for the enjoyment of the community by the Clinton County Arts Council, which receives a portion of its funding from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Tell your human you want to be there.
