St. Johns new build
Once the ground breaking ceremony took place on May 30th, Habitat’s wonderful volunteers and subcontractors hit the ground running on the St. Johns House. We already have a basement, framed walls, a shingled roof, and windows and doors. The house is coming along quite nicely.

A group of youth volunteers spent two days installing blue board in and around the St. Johns house. Then Adopt-A-Week sponsor St. Joseph Catholic Church framed the home under the supervision of Mike Feldpausch. Earlier this week our Adopt-A-Day sponsor the St. Johns Rotary Club shingled the home under the supervisor of Doug Beaufore of RSI Home Improvement.
Later this month another Adopt-A-Week sponsor First United Methodist Church will be siding the home under the continued supervision of Doug Beaufore and RSI Home Improvement. Finally in August a variety of individual volunteers and groups will be painting the interior and doing finish trim work. If you are interested in painting, trim work, or providing lunches there are numerous opportunities in August.

A few of the Rotarians from St. Johns Rotary club were at the house putting on shingles last Monday.
