The City of St. Johns Water Department personnel have been flushing fire hydrants in the City.
The purpose is to insure us that the hydrants are operable and also to clean the water mains of rust and sediment that develops over a period of time.
During the process, the water could become slightly colored; however, it should clear up shortly after the flushing.
Flushing of the hydrants is done in spring and fall.
The schedule for flushing will be:
State St. North from June 1 – June 28, 2013
State St. South from July 1 – July 19, 2013
Flushing will be done between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
