October 24 – November 23
The City of St. Johns Fall Leaf Collection Program will begin October 24, 2011 and continue through November 23, 2011. Leaves must be in the compostable Kraft brown paper yard waste bags and placed curbside (not in the street) for the daily collection.
The tentative schedule to pick up loose leaves in the City right of way is the week of November 28 thru December 2, 2011 (dependent on the weather). Please do not rake leaves in to the street as they can cover catch basins that may result in street flooding as well as be a hazard for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
Mulching leaves with a lawnmower into grassy areas is a great way to naturally fertilize your lawn and an environmentally friendly way to recycle leaves. If you prefer not to mulch or bag your leaves, you may take your loose yard waste to the City’s drop-off sites listed below.
The City appreciates your assistance in its yard waste programs. For updates on the various City programs you may access the City’s website at www.cityofsaintjohnsmi.com, watch the local newspapers and view the City Public Access Channel on your local cable stations (Channel 52 for WBI and channel 99 for Charter).
