Maralyn's Pet Corner

Snickers, Z-Man and Sweetcream
.
Hi! I’m Snickers, a bouncy, friendly, happy guy. I was running the streets with some of my best friends (or brothers?) when some two legged animals picked me up and took me to this place where I was in this cage with lots of other dogs talking all around me. But then some other people took me into their foster home, where I am making all new friends!
I love to meet new people and I will give them lots of kisses, if they let me. I am the ultimate lap dog – whenever you have a lap available, I will be on it! If you don’t pay attention, I will even jump or climb up on you. Mom thinks I might be part JRT (Jack Russell Terrier) as I can really jump high and am very athletic and muscular.
Mom doesn’t know how I would be around young kids or cats, as there haven’t been any around here yet. I love to be around my mom or dad and I sometimes speak up in order try to protect them from other two legged animals.
I would be your best friend forever if you adopt me! For more info you can contact mom at janandal@sbcglobal.net.

I am not really called Z Man but since there is another small dog that also needs help and his name is Zander, I figured I had to make sure everyone understands that there is a difference between us.
Now why would a cute little dog like me need help?
It seems I inherited some genes that weren’t so good. I think my mom’s owner should have been more careful before she let her get pregnant.
I was born with a liver shunt. No one realized it at first because neither my mom nor my dad had symptoms, but it is something that is not unheard of in Shih Tzus and is actually quite common in Yorkshire terriers.
Before I was a year old, I started having balance problems and even started having seizures. My owner took me to our veterinarian; and when she found out what was wrong, she started looking for rescue to take me because she had lost her job and could not afford the surgery I needed to make me better.
My rescue people don’t have a lot of money either; but after they met me and realized what a good boy I am, they decided to try and help me get better. If you want to donate money towards my surgery because you are nice person, that is great! But you can also claim it on your income tax because my rescue group is non-profit.

Sweet Cream is 2 years old, neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is calm in the house. Sweet is very fit and loves to move. Sweet Cream is good on a leash and would make an excellent running partner.
He is a typical Aussie looking for a job so I have started him in agility. He loves it!
He has been in training and made his competitive debut on Oct 30. He did great for his first time in the ring. He will be competing again on Nov 16th. He learns hand signs and signals very quickly. He is eager to learn more. He is a great agility dog and would make a good candidate for obedience, Ralley, Herding or Treiball.
Sweet is deaf and will need a secure above ground fence. He is housebroke and likes to sleep in his kennel. He’s not destructive or a digger. He’s not bothered by storms and can sleep thru anything. He won’t come running if you rattle a chip bag or open the refrig. There are a lot of great things that make a deaf dog easy to live with. Sweet weighs 60 lbs.
