Get in shape for Mint City races

Begins June 4
Runners and walkers planning to participate in the August 4 Mint City Races can get in shape by joining Sparrow Clinton Hospital’s training program.
Novice participants can learn how to complete a 5K run/walk or tackle a 10 mile race. Experienced runners and walkers can shape up for the big event with a more advanced training program.
The training program fee of $60 includes:
· Race entry fee (10M or 5K)
· Training program shirt & race day shirt
· Pre- and post-race lipid profile, blood sugar and blood pressure
· Weight checks and dietary support
· Weekly group runs/walks led by experienced runners
Training program registration takes place 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at the Sparrow St. Johns Professional Associates, 901 S. Oakland St. in St. Johns. Dr. Greg Holzhei supervises all health education related to the race program.
Training sessions are held every Monday at 6 p.m., beginning June 4. Training takes place at the St. Johns Middle School Track.
