The 2011 St. Johns Mint Festival is only four months away, which means it is time to get applications in to participate in various activities.
Two programs with deadline dates or meetings fast approaching are the Scholarship Program and the Pageant. Any high school senior in Clinton County (including home schooled individuals) entering college in the fall in a field of business is eligible to apply for the $1000 scholarship. Applications are available at all county high schools and from the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce office. They are due to the Chamber by Friday, April 6.
Applications are also being accepted for the Mint Festival Pageant. While the deadline is not until May 13 an Informational Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 21.
At the meeting the Pageant Committee will discuss the requirements to participate in the pageant, apparel, etc and the Chamber will discuss expectations if selected on the court. The meeting on the 21st will be held in the Clinton County RESA Building (across from McDonalds) at 6:00 pm.
Applications for the Little Miss Mint, Junior Miss Mint and Queen are available at the Chamber of Commerce office. The Mint Festival would like to stress to the older girls that the scholarship award for the Mint Queen has increased from $1000 to $1500 and that the 1st Runner Up will also receive a $500 scholarship.
The Chamber of Commerce office is located in the CC RESA Building at 1013 S US 27 in St. Johns. Their telephone number is 989-224-7248 or you can also email them for applications at ccchamber@power-net.net.
