Designs must be received by Friday June 7, 2013
In preparation for the annual St. Johns Mint Festival, the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce and Mint Festival Steering Committee are sponsoring a logo contest. We are looking for two designs-one for a Souvenir T-Shirt (shirts are sold throughout the festival) and the other for our Volunteer T-Shirt. A $50 Chamber Buck Gift Certificate will be awarded to each winning logo.
The committee invites all artists and creative people of all ages to submit logo designs. The theme for the 2013 St. Johns Mint Festival is “Small Town, Big Dreams”.
The following guidelines should be kept in mind while designing a logo:
1. For the Souvenir T-shirt we are looking for a sophisticated design that will appeal to the shirt collector, while at the same time represent “mint” and the festival celebration. We are looking for a design that can be printed on a shirt that is not white.
2. For the Volunteer T-shirt, we are looking for something fun that may or may not incorporate our mascot Minty. Because we want volunteers to stand out in a crowd, we have already decided we will be printing them on a neon or bright colored shirt.
The following is a list of rules for submission of application and entry.
1. There will be no entry fee.
2. You may enter a design for one or both t-shirts.
3. Persons of all ages residing in Clinton County may enter. No entries will be accepted from non-residents of Clinton County.
4. Where minors (anyone under the age of 18) are submitting entries, the entry blank must be co-signed by the parents or guardian of the child.
5. All entries must be on 8 1/2″ X 11″ plain white paper stock (in color). Attach to your entry a completely filled out entry blank. Entry blanks are available at the Chamber of Commerce office or on the Mint Festival website at www.clintoncountychamber.org/mint.
6. Designs must be received by Friday, June 7, 2013. Designs should be mailed to the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce at PO Box 61, St. Johns 48879, or hand delivered to the Chamber at 1013 S. US 27 in St. Johns.
7. Each contestant, in consideration of making the submission and entering the contest, agrees and assigns and relinquishes all title to the submitted works to the St. Johns Mint Festival of the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce. Each contestant further warrants that the entire work submitted is original and was not copied, borrowed or based on any work by others and that there is no impediment in title to the work. In this connection, each contestant agrees to sign any necessary legal documents transferring title and perfecting legal rights in and to the submitted works to the St. Johns Mint Festival of the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce and at the expense of the Mint Festival owners and proprietors of the design and logo for whatever purposes.
8. Each contestant accepts that the St. Johns Mint Festival Logo Committee reserves the right to make design changes or enhancements to the design as needed to make it suitable for printing purposes.
9. Each contestant accepts the decision of the judges which is final. Judging of the contest will be completed by June 21, 2013 and the winner(s) will be announced publicly as soon as practical thereafter.
10. In the event that the quality of the entries, in the view of the St. Johns Mint Festival Committee, is unsatisfactory for use, other sources for an acceptable final logo will be used. This will not change the selection of a winner from the contestants submitting entries.
11. Any submissions having publicly unacceptable subject matter, in the judgment of the Mint Festival contest, may be rejected by the entry officials.
