$1000 scholarship
The Clinton County Chamber of Commerce through the St. Johns Mint Festival will be awarding a $1000 scholarship this spring to a High School senior who will be entering college in the fall in the field of business. You can get an application online at www.clintoncountychamber.org/mint-festival, or you can call the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce at 989-224-7248. Applications will be due to the Chamber on Friday, April 11.
Applications are also available online at the same webpage for the 2014 St. Johns Mint Festival Pageant. To enter you must live in Clinton County. Entries for the Little Miss Mint category should be ages 8-10 on the date of the pageant (August 5). Junior Miss Mint contestants should be 12-14 and Queen contestants should be 16 to 20. The 2014 Mint Queen will receive a $1500 scholarship at the end of her reign and the 1st Runner Up will receive $500.
An informational meeting for potential contestants and parents is set for Thursday, April 24 from 6-8 pm in the CC RESA Building at 1013 S US 27 in St Johns (across from McDonalds). The girls and their parents will learn more about the commitment that is needed if they are selected to the royalty court the evening of the pageant. Pageant applications are due to the Chamber by 4:00 pm on Friday, May 9.
