Last week one of our readers identified this house when we were looking for the house on E. Walker.
The house was, indeed, built by A.T. Smith, the owner of Smitty’s garage. It was owned for many years by Ward Vail. It then passed to a grandson, the son of Pauline Vail Warren.
[Editor’s note: This house was my mother’s dream house. We lived in a little bungalow on W. Buchanan, but my mother always used to joke about the day when she would buy Ward Vail’s house.]
