Capital City Chordsmen perform July 25

Concert in Park
An award-winning barbershop harmony chorus entertains guests July 25 at the St. Johns City Park Performance Shell when the Capital City Chordsmen take the stage at Concert in the Park. There is no admission charge to the 7 p.m. show at the lovely outdoor venue in St. Johns.

Capital City Chordsmen has been entertaining audiences for over 70 years. The chorus spans all age groups from all walks of life. CCC is part of the international Barbershop Harmony Society that has over 30,000 members worldwide.
“Our society first and foremost gives singers, both beginners and trained vocalists, an opportunity to learn and enjoy our hobby,” says Dave Fitzpatrick of St. Johns, a member of Capital City Chordsmen.
“We sing at many events throughout the mid-Michigan area including Silver Bells in the City in Lansing, the Curwood Festival in Owosso, Music in the Park at Lake Lansing, Lansing’s Lugnuts games, the St. Johns Mint Festival and our annual show at the Wharton Center.”
Concert in the Park is sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council and the city of St. Johns, with support from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts. In addition, Abraham and Gaffney PC is being recognized at the July 25 concert for its financial support of the Arts Council and the summer music series.
Concerts are held each Wednesday evening, beginning at 7 p.m., in the St. Johns City Park. The St. Johns Lions and Lioness Club staff a concession stand that offers light refreshments. All concerts are held rain or shine.
