Red Cross Month
You don’t need superpowers or a cape to be a hero. A single blood donation can save more than one life and make you a hero to patients in need. Blood donations are used to treat cancer patients, trauma victims, premature babies with complications and those living with chronic conditions.
All year long, the American Red Cross is in communities across the country to provide relief to disaster victims, teach lifesaving skills, support members of the military and help ensure a sufficient blood supply for patients in need.
Last year the Red Cross:
– provided services to the military more than 370,000 times,
– collected approximately 5.3 million units of blood,
– trained more than 5.6 million people with lifesaving skills and
– was on the scene at nearly 70,000 disasters, including house and apartment fires.
Please give blood this March during Red Cross Month. Download the free Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS to learn more and make an appointment.
