What do I think?

Brace yourselves folks ’cause here I go again. I’ve been writing about my adventures with our newest DVD/VCR player/recorder. After learning that the noise lines problem was overcome by simply buying new tapes I finally remembered an old forgotten piece of advice. Factory tapes are rewound on their machines and the tension may not be the same as the machines sold to the public. Their recommendation was to fast forward new tapes all the way to the end and then rewind them before using. That allows our machines to set the tension of the tape. I’ve been trying that with my new tapes and it seems to work.
I thought I had won the battle. Not so says my crazy machine.
The other day it created a new trick. Whenever I pushed the play button it played for about 15 seconds and shut off. When I turned it back on, the machine ejected the tape. After doing that several times trying different tapes, I gave up. I went down to the basement and brought up the old machine that had a fluttery picture. It reminded me of a girl I once knew whose eyes kept fluttering which wasn’t normal. I don’t know how she ever focused on anything.
Anyway, I unhooked the new dvd/vcr player/recorder and hooked the old one up. The damned thing plays like a (I have my fingers crossed) charm. Must be the problem was tape tension right along. We never had that in the old days.
So, that ends my technical report for this week. See you next week.

If you’re like me, every day you get up you take a lot of pills. This one keeps you from withering away while the funny looking one keeps you from dying a horrible death. We’re being held hostage by our doctors that say we need to take these things or we’re not going to be among the living for very long. And if they see a chance, they’ll send you on to one of their colleagues so they too might enjoy the wealth you present to them.
“Ah . . . my next yacht payment,” they say silently as you walk in the door.
“Do you have insurance?”

I just bought a Kindle e-Book. How does it work? Damned if I know, I just got it charged as of this writing and introduced it to my wireless router. I do very little reading in the winter other than the newspaper. The reason for that, distractions. We have two computer, four televisions, and three VCRs. I’m not sure it furthers my education; but I sure like to watch Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Craig Ferguson, and a few shows on the History Channel.

A few thoughts:
The story in the NFL right now is contract negotiations. Picture this, millionaire players on one side of the table and billionaire owners on the other. Each side wanting a bigger piece of the pie which is only so big. Kind of brings tears to your eyes, doesn’t it?
Never underestimate the need for normal.
What I’m afraid of most today is the de-Americanization of America.
So Cee Lo Green has a new hit song titled, “FU.” Can it get anymore disgusting?
Am I alone in thinking that I’m the only one who buys a DVD movie with well-known actors/actresses in it and it turns out to be the dumbest movie I ever saw?
Dear Mother Nature, I don’t care what you do with the white stuff in my yard, but please melt the ice off my driveway so I can quit falling down or having to skate like crazy to stay upright. Sincerely, ol’ bauer.
Until the next time . . .
