What do I think?

Obama is always talking about what’s fair. Okay, let’s start with making things fair in the NBA. Maybe some more of those government regulations that cures all problems will help. Everybody seems to like the government’s involvement nowadays. The average height of a player in 1962 was 6′ 2″, and the average player today is 6′ 7″ plus. Let’s move the basket 5″ higher to correspond with that growth. Maybe that will cut down on the slam dunks when these flying Wallendas get an easy shot at two points. You know they don’t always make them as it is. Now that would make things fair, at least in the NBA.

Why is it that when some wacko kills a bunch of adults or kids there’s always these people crawling out of the woodwork in Washington D. C. who have all the answers on how to prevent it. Mostly taking gun rights away from law abiding citizens. With them it always has something to do with gun control and nothing to do with mental health.
Almost no one is talking about helping mentally ill people, many of them homeless, many of them outwardly having problems. Family members are also aware that somebody in their family has a problem. It all to often doesn’t get reported by them.
The first thing the government comes up with is guns and think all they have to do to solve that problem is ban them or multiple round magazines. Keep in mind that ten or fifteen round clips can be changed in less than two seconds and clips are cheap. Anybody who commits a crime like we’ve seen lately is insane to begin with. Let those knotheads in Washington try to do something about that and do it before the fact instead of after.
It’s almost impossible.
The young men that committed these all too recent crimes have to be suicidal to begin with but they want to be remembered so what better way for them to go. That’s the way their minds work.
The most direct solution to the shooting at Newtown is to ban single moms with sons from buying guns. She would still be free to buy a crossbow, swords, knives, a ball bat, shears, a tire iron, rope, or anything else that could be used as a weapon. It’s true they probably can’t commit a mass killing but are able to commit a multiple killing.
Maybe Mr. Obama will offer to disarm the Secret Service to prove that guns aren’t needed for personal protection in this country. Or maybe we can disarm Congress who I’m sure owns plenty of guns. Even Gabby Giffords owns a handgun; she keeps it at home locked up. Will we ever see a list published in a paper that shows how many members of Congress carry concealed? You know what they say, “What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”
You have to know that any attempt by the government to disarm Americans will result in the second American Revolution and that would be a disaster.

I’m all for quitting the United Nations and tearing the building down. Let them go someplace else with their nonsense. We are being dictated to by a bunch of countries ruled by potentates. They’ve got enough to do in their countries without trying to tell us what to do. The latest is a small arms control treaty which means our privately owned guns. We are bound by international treaties that our government signs. Even if they supersede our Constitution.
Think about it.

And Furthermore:
We abort hundreds of thousands of babies in this country every year and yet people are all upset because Russia banned adoptions of Russian orphans by American couples. There’s two problems with that. The orphans in Russia have severe emotional problems because of the way Russia runs its orphanages and what about the kids right here in the States who have need of a good home and loving parents. I still consider adopting kids from other countries is used as a status symbol and I don’t like it.
I recorded the Notre Dame/Alabama National Championship game looking for a close outcome. Forget that! Alabama blew out Notre Dame 42 to 14. It wasn’t even worth watching. Too much hype, not enough game to suit me.
I’ve heard and read that welfare recipients receive anywhere from $47,000 to $60,000 in benefits. If that’s true what a slap in the face to those people working and only taking home $30,000. Quit your job and join the “dependent on government” group if you dare but it will all soon collapse. Welfare is another “Ponzi Scheme.”
I’ve learned two things during the past few months. The Republican Whimp Party and the Socialist Democratic Party. I’m not pleased with either one.
I always wondered what the Bee Gees Maurice Gibb’s voice sounded like and I finally had the pleasure of hearing him on lead vocals on the Internet. He should have had more lead vocals on more of their songs. It was always Barry or Robin. Maurice had a great voice. By the way, the Bee Gees are my all time favorite group. I’ll miss them now that Maurice and Robin are gone. Rest in peace, guys.
Until the next time . . .
