RESA taps Koenigsknecht as new Superintendent

The Clinton County Regional Educational Service Agency Board of Education has decided to enter into contract negotiations with Scott Koenigsknecht, Ed.D., to be the next Clinton County RESA Superintendent.
The motion to enter negotiations was passed on a 5-0 vote.

The next step in the hiring process will involve members of the board working with Koenigsknecht on an employment agreement. The expectation is that Mr. Koenigsknecht will start as the new superintendent July 1, 2023.

Koenigsknecht is currently the Deputy Superintendent for P20 System and Student Transitions at Michigan Department of Education and was previously a Superintendent at the Ingham Intermediate School District, the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District and the Fowler Public Schools. His 29 years of education experience also includes time spent as a high school and middle school social studies teacher, middle and high school assistant principal, high school principal, and Associate Graduate Faculty at Central Michigan University.

Koenigsknecht says he is looking forward to sharing his enthusiasm and passion for P-20 education with the CCRESA students, staff and community.


Paine-Gillam-Scott House hosts children

Children who attended the Victorian Christmas at the Paine-Gillam Scott House enjoyed spending the evening listening to Christmas stories, singing Christmas carols with music from an old fashion pump organ, history of the house, making Christmas crafts and enjoying treats.

Parents attended with the children and other guests came to see the beautiful Victorian house decked out for Christmas.

Alzheimer’s Support Group to meet January 2

 

The Clinton County area Alzheimer’s Disease Support Group invite all those who are caregivers or concerned about someone with Alzheimers/dementia to join them in a group meeting.

The meetings are held on the first Monday of the month from 7-8:30 p.m.

Beginning on January 2, 2023 the meetings will be held at the Clinton County Senior Center located at 201 E. Walker St. in St. Johns.

The meetings are open discussion with helpful hints offered to people’s questions. Come join them, and know that you are not alone in this situation.

Paint Pouring Class with Theressa Levett is January 11

 

The next paint pouring class is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

In this Paint Pouring class at the Art & Soul Gallery, you will learn how to apply chemical and color theory to pouring paint. You will learn how to combine oil, flotrol, ink and paint to create cells and to prevent your colors from muddying.

You can do up to three 8″ x 8″pour paintings. Due to drying times, the paintings will be made on the 22nd, but pick up will be the following week.
