SJPS Superintendent resigns during special meeting
At a special meeting of the St. Johns Public Schools Board of Education on Monday, January 30 the Board was expected to approve the resignation of Superintendent Mark Palmer. At the same meeting the Board heard a presentation on Preparing for and Selecting a Superintendent by Michigan Associates of School Boards. Presumably the Superintendent Selection Process will begin soon.
Back in December the Board had judged Palmer’s performance as highly effective.
Helping Hands event coming up February 25
The St. Johns Rotary Club’s 2023 Helping Hands committee meeting met recently. Tickets are now on sale from any Rotarian.

New St. Joseph Church pews installed
St Joseph church received their new solid hardwood pews bright and early on Tuesday morning. They were scheduled to be installed on Wednesday.
Annual Chocolate Fantasy is February 9
On Thursday February 9 the Clinton County Senior Center is hosting an evening filled with sweet treats. Their Chocolate Fantasy will feature at least 25 delectable, mouth-watering chocolate creations from area restaurants, chefs, caterers, confectioners and individuals. Approximately 100 people will attend.
Tickets are on sale now. Stop in to the Center at 201 E Walker St. in St. Johns to purchase yours. They are open Monday and Tuesdays from 9-3, and on Friday they are open from 9-2. $10 per ticket.
