Sensory Storytime at the library is December 4
Join folks at the Briggs District Library on Monday, December 4 from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. for the Sensory Storytime Program.
Kids ages 0-5 with their adults are invited to explore their five senses during this program. Registration is required.
This is a free family program. No library card is needed to attend this program.
Free Cocoa and Cookies with Santa is November 29
Visit Lowe Methodist Church on November 29 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. for a visit with Santa.
Each child will have an opportunity to sit and talk with Santa, share their Christmas list and take a photo. Be sure to bring your own cameras.
After you see Santa enjoy a cup of cocoa, cookie and a movie in the social hall. This is a free event and all are welcome.
IQ Hub hosts Santa December 5
IQ Hub Art Explosion returns after thousands of visitors enjoyed the unique exhibit last winter. The event will run from November 28, 2023 through March 1, 2024 with special events each month. Admission to the Art Explosion event is free.
The first special event will be held on Tuesday, December 5 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. as the Indoor Winter Market takes over the IQhub/AgroLiquid building.
Visits with Santa will take place in the IQhub from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening. Come shop for holiday gifts and treats! There is an amazing line-up of local and regional crafts and artisan goods.

Wood Burning Ornament Class for Beginners with Lauri Stephens
Tuesday, November 28 from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM at the Gallery, 215 N Clinton Ave in Saint Johns
Come join them in creating wood burned Christmas ornaments and gift tags to add a natural touch to any holiday decor or gift. Local artist, Lauri Stephens, will take you through the beginner steps of wood burning and simple paint application to create 3 whimsical festive pieces. All materials are included for this class. Ages 10 and up.

Gourd Dying and Decorating Workshop coming up November 30
Join Andy Thornton at the Art & Soul Gallery to dye and decorate a dried gourd with wire and beads on Thursday, November 30 from 6:30-8:30 PM.
In this creative, autumnal class at the Art & Soul Gallery, Hand Andy will teach you how to dye and decorate your very own gourd. Dye your gourd with alcohol ink and spray it with alcohol to create the signature, beautiful patterns. Once your gourd is dry, make its surface shine with varnish, then string your choice of colorful beads around the rim of gourd.
Supplies are included. This class is $45.
Mint City Singers present Christmas Joy December 8
The Mint City Singers Holiday Concert is December 8t at 7:00 PM at St Johns Lutheran Church.
The group is directed by Steven Easterling and accompanied by Jeff Richards. There will be a Free will offering at the door.
The church is located at 511 E. Sturgis Street in St. Johns. The Mint City Singers is a branch of the Clinton County Arts Council.
SafeCenter needs holiday donations
SafeCenter Domestic and Sexual Violence Services of Clinton and Shiawassee Counties will be providing “Christmas Wishes” to children, mothers, and fathers again this holiday season for those victims/survivors actively engaged in services.
Beginning December 19-December 21, clients of SafeCenter will have the opportunity to pick out items from their “Christmas Wish List” to have items under the tree on the big day.
In order to make this happen, however, SafeCenter needs the community’s help with donations of toys and various other items. By visiting the SafeCenter’s Facebook page you can find Christmas Wish Lists for children by age group, and for mothers and fathers.

Historical Society’s Calendar now available

Help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Clinton County Historical Society
The Clinton County Historical Society was established in 1974. To begin the celebration they have collected vintage photographs from around the county to illustrate a 2024 calendar.
Beyond its practical use, the calendar will make a great souvenir or gift. It is now available.
Calendars are available for purchase at the Clinton County Historical Museum located in the Paine-Gillam-Scott House, 106 Maple and Trek Power Equipment, 510 N. Lansing St.in St. Johns. Second Cup Cafe open Monday through Friday
The Second Cup Cafe located in the Clinton County RESA Bldg., 1013 Old US-27 in St. Johns is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The Cafe supports young adults in the Transitions Classroom.
They are selling at $1.50 each Big cookies: NoBakes, Monster, Chocolate Scotcharoos, Molasses, Oatmeal-Raisin, Brownies, Soft Pretzels and cheese dipping sauce, Bagels, Coffee and Tea. They also have lots of assorted decorations. Come and support these hard working students.
