’80s vibes come alive July 31 in St. Johns via Miranda and the M80s

No matter what age you are, there’s something infectious about Miranda and the M80s sound that makes people want to “move, get into the groove.” The premier ’80s rock cover band is set to play songs from the decade of rock/pop and dance hits July 31 in the weekly St. Johns Concert in the Park summer series. The music begins at 7 p.m. at the William E. Tennant Performance Shell in St. Johns; no admission charge.

Since 2015, Miranda and the M80s have consistently been traveling around the state taking their highly energetic rock show to many different venues and for many different events.

Fronted by the powerful voice of Miranda Amy, she’s backed by technically accurate and soulful musicians Jeff Dietrich on drums, Len Zielenski on guitars and Drew Garrison on bass. This year’s performance by Miranda and the M80s pays tribute to the band Queen with several of their iconic songs. https://www.facebook.com/MirandaandtheM80s/

Concert in the Park is sponsored by the Clinton County Arts Council and the City of St. Johns with support from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts. Concerts are held each Wednesday evening; rain or shine. The St. Johns Lions and Lioness Club staff a concession stand offering light refreshments.

Visit the CCAC web site for other show dates in August, http://www.clintoncountyarts.org/ or the St. Johns City Park Performance Shell page on Facebook.

Fair is July 29 – August 1

On Thursday the Incredible Doctor Pol will be speaking on his veterinary experience.

The motto of the Clinton County 4-H and Youth Fair is, “Where Friends Meet and Memories
Are Made”. This year Fair Board members and volunteers are excited to introduce new events that they hope will add to your joyous memories and result in new friendships.

The first of these is a special visit on Thursday by the Incredible Doctor Pol, who will be speaking on his veterinary experience.

This is the first year of a Still Exhibit Auction, which allows 4-H members the opportunity to auction a non-livestock project. By offering a still exhibit auction, the Fair Board hopes to offer greater learning experiences for non-livestock participants by providing similar hands-on and practical economics applications.

This is also the first year that the Fair Board will be offering a scholarship, sponsoring continued learning for 4-Her presently enrolled in a secondary education program.
