Musical inspiration for CROP Walk

Sunday, October 14
Come to hear local musicians perform Sunday, October 14 at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of St. Johns, located next to the county courthouse. The concert proceeds this afternoon will go to support the CROP Walk which provides funds for digging wells for clean water and providing food relief in African countries that have been stricken by drought and famine.
Of the funds raised for the CROP Walk, 25% stays in the community for food relief efforts. The CROP Walk began in 1969 in Bismark, ND and now people all over the country walk to raise money to fight hunger and help others.
Featured performers include Bill and Pat Trommeter, Tom and Beth Webb, Flaming Arrows and The Shepardsville Team.
Bill and Pat Trommeter (Lyons) performed at folk festivals professionally through the Michigan Touring Arts Agency for about 10 years. They often sing with friends
Tom and Beth Webb of St. Johns, who also sing together as well as act, direct, and produce musical shows in town.
The two bands are built around the musical talents of the Bontragers from Ovid, who host two concerts of their own each year to fundraise for missions. Learn more about the Shepardsville Team (and Like them) on Facebook. Read about the family’s mission efforts at http://www.godslittlechildren.org .
